FAVERSHAM FOOD FESTIVAL
Friday 16th September on Town Quay
The focus is on fish, freshly landed in the heart of Faversham adjacent to the old fish market by Bluey Walpole of Hollowshore Fisheries. High tide is at 13:00 when we plan to have fresh
fish landed with fish stalls, demonstrations from lunchtime
until dusk, down on Town Quay, on Conduit Street between TS Hazard and the Swing Bridge.

One of many interes ng facts about the Whitstable Oyster Fes val is that it dates back to Norman mes and tradi onally was a celebra on of the previous year’s successful oyster harvest. In the fes val’s days
of yesteryear, local shermen would a end a formal church ceremony before spending the rest of the day
feas ng on oysters, dancing and playing games.

The organisers of Fantas c Bri sh Food Fes vals will be bringing their exper se to the truly magical surroundings of the 900 year old Leeds Castle in Kent for the third year running. Take the opportunity to wander around the fairytale
grounds of this hugely popular wedding and func on venue and,
when you get peckish, take a stroll down to the market stalls.
